Taras Assignment Full Clip

The inter-Korean spy actioner will open in the U.S. ahead of its market debut in Berlin.

South Korea's CJ Entertainment announced a slew of deals for spy actioner Confidential Assignment, ahead of its market debut at the European Film Market in Berlin next month.

The film has been sold to 42 territories, including the U.S., the Middle East, India, the Philippines and Mongolia. It will open in American cinemas via direct distribution by CJ on Jan. 27, followed by Australia/New Zealand on Feb. 9, Hong Kong/Macao on Feb. 16, Taiwan on Feb. 17 and Vietnam on March 3. CJ, which operates a chain of cinemas in Indonesia, will also handle its upcoming release in the Asian country.

The film debuted at No. 2 in South Korean theaters over the weekend of Jan. 20-22, and has earned a cumulative $15.8 million as of Friday, according to the Korean Film Council's KOBIS database. It is expected to garner more revenue as it leads advanced ticket sales at 46.1 percent as of Friday at noon.

Directed by Kim Sung-hoon, Confidential Assignment stars popular actor Hyun Bin (The Fatal Encounter) as a North Korean agent sent to the South to track down a rogue military officer. Yoo Hae-jin (Luck-Key) plays the role of a South Korean detective who tries to interfere with the investigation and uncover the real motive behind Lim's mission.

"The overseas popularity of actor Hyun Bing through his TV drama appearances as well the film's inter-Korean setting seem to have caught the eyes of foreign buyers," said Choi Yoonhee, head of international sales and distribution at CJ.

In addition to Confidential Assignment, CJ's Fabricated City is also set to make its market premiere in Berlin. Helmed by Welcome to Dongmakgol director Park Kwang-hyun, Fabricated City is about a young man who receives the help of fellow virtual game players when he is framed for murder.

The clips below pertain to Lettie Mae's demon, Tara's excorcism, and the Hoodoo woman, Miss Jeanette.

Lettie Mae - "It's The Demon" (That's Causing Her Alcoholism)

Lettie Mae Tries To Get A Bank Loan For An Exorcism

Tara's Exorcism

Note that Tara thinks Miss Jeanette is a fraud. Many fans who have seen the show still think that Miss Jeanette was a fraud. Miss Jeanette lied about living in the country and a few other things, but in reality she actually did have "the power". This is confirmed because we discover that Miss Jeanette was murdered and had her heart ripped out of her chest by Maryann's cult who were taking the hearts of supernatural beings in order to try to summon Dionysus. If Miss Jeanette was a fraud then she would not have been murdered. Too bad Miss Jeanette didn't seem to understand how much power she actually had.

I couldn't find a clip of Lettie Mae's exorcism. If you haven't seen the show, you should definitely watch it. Miss Jeanette pulls out the demon and puts it into a possum which she then immediately drowns in order to kill the demon. It was a very interesting segment.
